چکیده
Abstract The clinical use of 3D printed patient specific orthopaedic cast is wide interest. However, design and production have problems such as time, which can take up to 35 h, standardized procedure considering that there are medical devices must comply mandatory and/or voluntary standards. Moreover, the proposed procedures do not fully consider traceability this innovative device with standards industrial proposes. aim work propose a semi-automatic workflow for casts. oriented towards reduction time in different phases (as scan setting, designing technique, printing orientation) flow. compliant recognized quality additive manufactured devices. This approach offers possibility introduce new practice well an optimized workflow.

A rapid and intelligent designing technique for patient-specific and 3D-printed orthopedic cast
Background: Two point four out of 100 people suffer from one or more fractures in the course of average lifetimes. Traditional casts are featured as cumbersome structures that result in high risk of cutaneous complications. Clinical demands for developing a hygienic cast have gotten more and more attention. 3D printing technique is rapidly growing in the fabrication of custom-made rehabilitatio...

متن کاملApplication of 3D–printed and patient-specific cast for the treatment of distal radius fractures: initial experience
Background: Distal radius fracture is common in the general population. Fracture management includes a plaster cast, splint and synthetic material cast to immobilise the injured arm. Casting complications are common in those conventional casting technologies. 3D printing technology is a rapidly increasing application in rehabilitation. However, there is no clinical study investigating the appli...
متن کامل3D-Printed Patient-Specific ACL Femoral Tunnel Guide from MRI
Background Traditional ACL reconstruction with non-anatomic techniques can demonstrate unsatisfactory long-term outcomes with regards instability and the degenerative knee changes observed with these results. Anatomic ACL reconstruction attempts to closely reproduce the patient's individual anatomic characteristics with the aim of restoring knee kinematics, in order to improve patient short and...
متن کاملFeasibility of a 3D-printed anthropomorphic patient-specific head phantom for patient-specific quality assurance of intensity-modulated radiotherapy
This study evaluated the feasibility of utilizing a 3D-printed anthropomorphic patient-specific head phantom for patient-specific quality assurance (QA) in intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). Contoured left and right head phantoms were converted from DICOM to STL format. Fused deposition modeling (FDM) was used to construct an anthropomorphic patient-specific head phantom with a 3D printer...
